About
the College



Andhra Loyola College is managed and administered
by the members of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits), a Catholic religious order,
which has rendered significant service in the fields of education and humanity
for  over 450 years. The college was
founded in December 1953, at the  request
of the Catholic bishops of Andhra Pradesh and began its


academic sessions in July 1954. The college offers Intermediate
(+2), Degree, and Postgraduate courses and conducts research programmes in
collaboration with several reputable universities. In 1988, the college was
accorded the status of autonomy  for the
Degree-level programmes by the University Grants  Commission (UGC) in recognition of its
excellent


contribution to the cause of higher education. The
degrees for both UG and PG programmes are awarded by Krishna University, to
which the college is affiliated. In 2004, the college won the prestigious
‘College with Potential for Excellence’ (CPE) status from the UGC. In September
2008, the college was re-accredited by the National Assessment and  Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bangalore, with
Grade A (CGPA 3.65 out of 4.00).


About the Department



The department is blessed with 18 lecturers’ which includes
10  doctorates and 5 M.Phils. The
department is engaged in the student-centred activities like industrial tours,
field visits & seminars.


The department provides, four subject electives of
the current topics like Nanotechnology, Bio-Physics, Electronic Instrumentation,
Quantum Mechanics under Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) for final year
students. It provides skill-based electives like General Instrumentation,
Physics of graphics, Microprocessors and Electronic devices. The department is
equipped with one of the biggest research laboratories in coastal Andhra
pradesh.





Theme
of the Seminar



Keeping in view of the potential applications of different materials, it
is decided to cover, the preparation, characterisation and physical properties
(magnetic, dielectic, spectroscopic, thermal etc.) of the following classes of
materials.


1. Ceramic Materials


2. Glasses & Glass Ceramic


3. Thin Films


4. Solar Materials


5. Polymers


6. Semi conducting Materials


7. Composite Materials


8. Nano Materials


However, contributions on other related topics will also


be considered.

Authors are soclicited to contribute to the National Seminar by
submitting ABSTRACTS / A FULL PAPER / POSTER prepared on Multi Functional
Materials.


Submission of abstracts


The authors are requested to submit an Abstract (not exceeding one page)
for oral as well as poster presentation through email: nsmfm2013@gmail.com


Submission of Full Paper


It is also planned to bring out the proceedings of
the seminar. Hence all the contributors including the invited speakers, are
requested to send a full-length paper (not exceeding 4 Pages), in the following
format :





Paper Size : A4, Margins, - Left - 1.5", Right
- 1", Top -1" and Bottom -1", Line spacing - 1.25, Font - Times
New Roman, Title of the paper -14pt Bold (Capitalize Letters), Author's Name -
10 Pt, Author's Address - 10 pt Italic (centered), Abstract- 10 pt Italic,
Subtitles -10 pt Bold, Contents – 10 pt normal





The papers will be peer reviewed on the
originality, technicality, quality, research significance and relevance to the
conference proceedings. The papers submitted after the due date will not be
considered for publishing.


For each poster a space of 1 meter x 1 meter space
will be provided by the organizers and a maximum of TWO participants per entry
are allowed. However, only one participant will be allowed for presentation.
