Bridge Course

ALPHA organized a bridge course for the benefit of the students who have come from Telugu medium background during 11th and 12th of July 2007. This course is aimed at helping students to face the medium changeover problem. The inauguration of the programme was held on 11-7-2007 at 3.40 p.m in Room no : 1N7. Most of the members of the Department of Physics along with the HOD have participated in the programme. It was pointed out that the students must take advantage of studying their basic education in Mother tongue and can come up with flying colours by properly tuning to English medium.
Immediately after the inauguration of the Bridge Course, Dr.Ch. Srinivasu the resource person explained the terminology in Physics in Telugu and English. The ways to understand Physics, methods of studying were explained by the resource person. There were 62 students from AP, AC, AML, ACP sections who were present. The course was extended to 12th July also. The resource person is willing to continue the course after first Mid exams are over. He proposes to conduct problem-solving classes for the interested students.
Some observations:
The number of students from Telugu medium school education has increased sharply in this year comparing to the near past especially in AP, AC, and AML sections. Hence some new strategies would help these students come up with flying colors and constant motivation is also necessary to boost their morale.
