Andhra Loyola PHysics Association (ALPHA) has inaugurated a weeklong state level seminar on NANOTECHNOLOGY in Andhra Loyola College today (27th,August 2007) with the blooming colors.
About 53 Students from different parts of the state will be harping upon various seminar topics from 27thAugust to 1st September. G.Srinivas Rao the Head of the Department of Physics termed that the department has the unique feature of conducting seminars every year on current & future topics, which will be benefiting the students for the all round development.
Nanotechnology seminar surely makes the students aware of the future developments & opportunities in the nano levels. Mr.Sahaya Baskaran the staff coordinator of ALPHA has emphasized the need of matured minds in research. He hoped that this seminar would serve as a platform to improve the communication skills.
The Programme commenced at 9.30am today with the inaugural function, with lightening the lamp and is presided over by Fr.Principal. Emmanuel, Rector.Fr.P.Antony, Dr.Ch.Srinivasu Dean of sciences. All the dignitaries gave their valuable suggestions, messages & lead the students to the technical world.
There are 10 Students presented their papers on various aspects of nanotechnology, which are mainly focused on the implications on nanotechnology in medicine, renewable energy resources & space exploration. Today’s hot concepts of the seminar are on the renewable energy sources & nano diagnosis. The seminar would continue for the whole week and finals will be held on 1-9-2007.
Sri. T. Sri Kumar, Sri. P.Srinivasa Sastry and Dr. G. Venkateswara have consented to be the Judges of the seminar. As the number of students from the Host institution is very high, it was decided to have a separate set of prizes for the students of host institution. The best one will represent Loyola in the Finals.
